Mike Ozekhome, A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), says the attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, was expected.
Reacting to Tuesday’s brazen attack by bandit terrorists, the constitutional lawyer stated that the sad incident didn’t come to him as a surprise or shock.
In an interview with The PUNCH, Ozekhome asked the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to wake up and address the rising insecurity in the country.
The popular lawyer, who was miffed by the attack, said the invasion of the military school shows that nowhere is safe in the country.
He said, “I am not surprised at all. When you point one finger at others, be sure that four are pointing at you. The words of the German cleric, Martin Niemoller, after the Jewish holocaust between 1940 and 1945 during World War II are very apt here.
“Let the Buhari government go and read them and they will understand why the chicken is coming home to roost so soon.
“When bandits attack a school for the training of military men and audaciously demand ransom, then Armageddon is here.”
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday told terrorists that attacked the Nigerian Defence Academy on Tuesday that their end is near.
The President in his reaction to the attack on the military facility by the terrorists said the morale of the Nigerian Military is not dampened by the incident.
While commiserating with the families of the victims of the attack, the Nigerian leader vowed that terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and all other criminals will be squarely dealt with by the security agencies.
He also cautioned those gloating over the incident to desist and join hands with the government in tackling insecurity and making Nigeria a better place for all.
Buhari made the submission in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
