“We are right up there, this is tactically one of the best Chelsea sides, in fact the best, I’ve ever seen.

“Tuchel is just getting things right, and today was without [Kai] Havertz, without Mount, without Lukaku.

“We top the group and we did it in style, we’re not just getting over the line, we battered them today. Battered them.”

The European heroes look well en route to go after top distinctions again in Tuchel’s first full season.

The success over Juventus was one of their best of the mission, including extraordinary objectives from Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Chelsea squard

“You look at the game last night and you look at that Juventus team, Chiesa who was outstanding in the Euros, he did great against England, but he didn’t have a sniff against Chelsea.

“Antonio Rudiger, for me, is probably the best centre-half in the world at the moment, the way he’s playing.

“They’re just so organised. Even when an attacker receives the ball, there are three defenders there – I’d hate to play against this Chelsea defence at the moment!

“Just beating Juventus 4-0, their worst result in the Champions League.

“For me, Chelsea are the best team in the world, they’ve got the best centre-half in Rudiger and best right-back in the world in Reece James.”

As mentioned, Chelsea have had to contend with injuries throughout the course of the season, and they may have picked up a couple more crucial ones ahead of a league meeting with Manchester United.
