And Van Polen has firmly established himself as a Zwolle legend with three trophies in 391 games.

But the defender’s greatest achievement looks to have come with his latest contract

That’s because Van Polen has promised to buy every single season ticket holder a beer at Friday’s game against Telstar.

He said: “As many know, I try to have something fun written into my contract. This year I want to thank the fans.

“With a special coin, which every season ticket holder, sponsor and volunteer receives, I want to give a round to the entire stadium on Friday.”

And it’s the latest incredible clause he’s demanded, with previous deals including a second-hand car and a family holiday at a Dutch campsite.

Explaining the demands, he previously told ESPN:“I like it, I enjoy forcing the club to be a bit creative. I hand in part of the money with which they then have to be creative.

Another asked: “How do I become a season ticket holder?”
