ERIK TEN HAG told Alejandro Garnacho he has to accept being taken off again after coming on as a substitute against Crystal Palace.
The youngster has broken into the first-team this season and impressed with his ability to take players on and create chances.
But against the Eagles he was the player sacrificed after Casemiro was sent off.
Garnacho was taken off 30 minutes after replacing Wout Weghorst in the 59th minute as Ten Hag shut up shop with United in a precarious 2-1 lead.
Defender Harry Maguire took his place and Ten Hag warned Garnacho that he has to accept being substituted.
The United boss told MUTV:”First we had to see how they changed, then you have to anticipate and see how we can close, how to be compact, how we close the gaps, how we get away from our goal but also still have a threat in attack.
“It’s not always nice bringing off a player who we brought on but it’s in the interests of the team and the player has to accept that.”
Garnacho is very highly rated at Old Trafford and is on the brink of agreeing a new five snd a half year contract.
But as the most inexperienced player on the pitch against Palace Ten Hag decided to take him off.
The decision paid off as United held onto their lead to continue their winning streak at home.
The Red Devils have won their last 13 games at Old Trafford and are now just eight points of Prem leaders Arsenal.
