EBSU Students Protest After 5 Persons Fainted While Trying To Write Exams (Photos)

Reports reaching us that the Students of Ebonyi State University, EBSU, on Thursday, staged a heavy protest at the Permanent Site of the Institution after five students fainted while trying to write their exams on Wednesday.

Sources correspondent monitoring the development gathered that trouble started when the General Studies Examination which used to be conducted at the Ishieke Campus and Permsite was scheduled to only take place at the Permanent Site of the Institution with over 10,000 students struggling to write the exams.

A Source correspondent gathered that over 30 students lost their phones and tablets while trying to enter into the CBT centre.

Following the protest, the Abakaliki – Enugu Express Way was blocked by the students that demanded an end to the CBT examination.

According to a student that spoke with our correspondent:-

“We don’t want CBT again. We want Paper and pencil. Why should the school management decide to suffer us like this.”

“This is very bad. We demand justice. Over five students fainted yesterday while trying to write the exam.”.

Source reports that it took the intervention of the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Barrister Eric Kelechi Igwe before the students were convinced to leave the Federal road.

The Deputy Governor promised that the CBT examination will be ended.

Investigation done by sources revealed that Governor David Nweze Umahi has not paid the staff of the institution for over seven months.
