LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp has taken full responsibility for the club’s underwhelming season.
The Reds currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, 29 points behind league leaders Arsenal.
And they are on course to end the campaign without a trophy, having been knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup.
With the season nearing to a close, Klopp has apologised to Liverpool fans for the club’s “rubbish” nine months.
In an interview with Sky Sports, he said: “I’m sorry for our fans, that they don’t have the season they wished for. But in the long term they will forget that.
“I couldn’t care less what we did last year or the years before. I’m 100 per cent responsible for this rubbish and it’s really not cool.”
Fans have since praised the Liverpool boss for his admission, with one person tweeting: “These are brilliant words from Klopp. ‘Couldn’t care less about last season’ is spot on right now. Just shows he has the right mindset.
“I do have one thing I disagree with though, Jurgen. You are not 100% responsible at all. No where near. We know the truth.”
Another added: “Absolutely love the bones of him – never leave Jurgen.”
A third wrote: “I 100% trust in him to fix it. I wouldn’t want anyone else.”
