Reports – Manchester United power rankings with Marcus Rashford clear after Omonia Nicosia win

Manchester United earned their second win of the Europa League group stage on Thursday night by coming from behind in Cyprus to beat Omonia Nicosia 3-2 in Cyprus.

Erik ten Hag’s side now sit second in Group E behind Real Sociedad but will have gained confidence having faced one of the longest away trips they will endure this season and winning under difficult circumstances. However, United and their players will not judge success based on performances in the Europa League group stage.

United did manage to score three goals and that is reflected in their power rankings, which have been taken from the club’s rankings on Whoscored.com. But who tops the charts for Ten Hag’s side? Let’s take a look at the top five United players in the Europa League.

Dalot has enjoyed a strong season, despite the struggles of the defensive unit as a whole, and has made himself a constant threat in the opposition half.

The Portuguese full-back almost recorded an assist in the closing stages, but the chance he created was squandered as Cristiano Ronaldo fluffed his lines with the goal at his mercy. It has been a strong campaign for Dalot and the promise he had when signed in 2017 is beginning to be realised.

The Brazilian defensive midfielder has found his opportunities limited since joining United from Real Madrid in the summer, with Scott McTominay holding onto his role in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old has enjoyed a good campaign in the Europa League, however, and has featured in all three matches. His performances have provided a solid base with which United can build their attacks from but the five-time Champions League winner will hope for more game time as the season goes on.

The French forward looked set to return to his best form this season having performed well in pre-season before being hampered by an injury.

His campaign got underway with an assist against Liverpool before a brace coming off the bench against Manchester City. He scored off the bench once again in Cyprus to underline his importance to ten Hag.

When Varane joined Manchester United, he likely did not think that his skills would be relied upon in the Europa League.

He earns his way into these rankings due to his quality performance against Sheriff in Moldova. With United now having successfully navigated the two long-distance away trips in the group, he has certainly played his role.

The 24-year-old has rediscovered his form this season, earning the September Player of the Month award and has been a constant threat in both the league and Europe.

Two goals in Cyprus means he takes the top spot in these rankings as he further underlines the improvement in his form this campaign when compared to last.
