Phil Foden has been named the Premier League Young Player of the Season for the second year in a row.
In other words, Phil Foden is the first player to win back-to-back Premier League Young player of the season awards.
Foden was fantastic in the 2020/21 premier League Season, and he went on to win his first Young Player of the year award for the very first time.
This season was not an exception as he went on to display more undying skills which indeed proved that he truly deserved to win the award for the second time in a role which he was just recently awarded. This shows that Foden is well groomed in the team under manager Pep Guardiola.
Foden has made 27 appearances for Man City in the Premier League this season as Pep Guardiola’s side look to retain the title heading into the final day of the campaign.
Here is Foden’s official thank you speech after winning the Premier League Young Player award;
I am very proud to have won this award for a second season in a row.
There are so many talented young players in the Premier League this season and it is a real honor to win it again.
I have been really happy with my performances this season and it has been great to contribute to this team in what will hopefully be another successful year for us all.
To be nominated alongside so many great players is an honor as they have all had great seasons for their clubs.
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to my development this season.
