Man Utd stars in row during middle of Liverpool clash as Erik ten Hag and team-mates turn on Dalot
MANCHESTER UNITED stars turned on Diogo Dalot during their match against Liverpool.
Anthony and Fred were spotted criticising the defender mid-way through the first half.
They appeared to be unhappy with his use of the ball, with manager Erik ten Hag also seen bellowing at Dalot from the touchline.
To make matters worse for the Portuguese Liverpool opened the scoring after exploiting United’s right flank.
Dalot was drawn towards Andy Robertson on the ball, meaning he left a huge space behind him.
Fred attempted to cover the gap but he was unable to intercept Robertson’s pass to Cody Gakpo, who found the bottom corner seconds after receiving the ball.
United fans on social media were very critical of Dalot and pointed out his mistakes.
One wrote: “Dalot and Fred’s defending for that Gakpo goal was absolutely shocking.”
Another added: “Knew Aaron Wan-Bissaka should have started.”
A third said: “The amount of slack our fans cut Dalot is unbelievable. The guy is never where he needs to be. Or gets cooked whenever he’s there. Attacking full-back my arse.”
And another commented: “Dalot is the weak link in this Manchester United team, it’s too obvious.”
The mood was to turn even darker in the second half as Liverpool romped to a stunning 7-0 win.
