Thomas Tuchel on Hakim Ziyech Injury and the way forward for the entire Team.
The Blues begins this new season by picking up yet another victory as a super champion of Europe after beating Villarreal 7-6 after a strong penalty shoot out.
In the first half of the game, Hakim Ziyech gave Chelsea the upper lead when he opened the net by scoring a classic goal. But tragedy struck as he wasn’t able to finish the match as he was sent off after sustaining an arm injury.
However the Here is what the manager has to say:
“Yeah, if you take a player out during the first half, it’s serious. Unfortunately, because he was a very decisive player for us in the last games.
“We overused some players who were absolutely not ready to play 120 minutes and have only two days in between this and the next match with Crystal Palace so that absolutely does not help us.
“We came [to Belfast] with so many players who did not even play a friendly match so far so this is the situation – we have to adapt and we have to, in our mindset, be as ready as we can be to do our very best.”
Chelsea Manager, however, has a good plan for the team, and hopes to bring out the best a solid team deserves.
