The All Progressives Congress, APC, has expelled its Caretaker Chairman in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu, after he was allegedly caught on tape wishing President Muhammadu Buhari death.
In an audio clip that went viral in August, Alhaji Adamu was alleged to have wished that the president had contracted the COVID-19 and consequently died.
Adamu has continued to deny the voice in the audio, saying it’s not his voice.
The expulsion of Adamu was confirmed by Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, National Secretary APC CECPC.
Akpanudoedehe said Adamu’s expulsion from the party takes immediate effect.
He said the decision to expel him from the party, was part of resolutions reached at the 16th meeting of the CECPC held at the party’s National Secretariat, on Wednesday, Sept. 1.
“The CECPC received and deliberated on the report of his infractions and recommendations of the 7-member disciplinary committee.
The committee was set up by the Adamawa State Working Committee to investigate the offenses committed by Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu, against the interest of the party,” he said.
He added that Adamu was also found guilty of bringing the image of the party to disrepute, thereby creating doubts over his leadership qualities and loyalty to the party.
Akpanudoedehe called on party members to always demonstrate self-discipline and restraint, by desisting from acts and utterances that were inimical to the interest of the party.
