Hudson-Odoi: Thomas Tuchel’s post-match debrief to equip the player

It seems that Hudson-Odoi is being drilled by Chelsea tactician, Thomas Tuchel on being a stand out player on the pitch.

It’s seen that Odoi, since the coming of Tuchel, has improved greatly on the way he plays.

Nevertheless, Tuchel never gives accolades to a single player because he believes in teamwork, and also believes that every individual should play their roles in order to see the team grow to a fierce height.

According to football.london, There was a constant edge throughout yesterday’s game after chelsea defeated Leeds 3:2 to grab the 3 points, proof the rivalry between the two sides that started with the 1970 FA Cup final is very much still alive.

And after the full-time whistle, things boiled over. It started with Tyler Roberts and Kai Havertz – who went forehead-to-forehead – and ended with both sets of players clashing in the corner flag in front of the Matthew Harding and East Stands.

Rudiger was, to nobody’s surprise, front and center. The German defender, who was once again called Chelsea’s aggressive leader by Tuchel, made his way across the pitch to defend his teammate before he was pulled away from the scrap by Romelu Lukaku.

“You cannot have Toni being the emotional leader and aggressive leader on the pitch and then suddenly not be involved if there are some teammates to protect or involved in an argument,” Tuchel admitted after the game.

“It is 100% Toni and hopefully how I observed it there was no harm done and in a frame that you can accept. I hope so because I didn’t see it in an intense game like this.”

Tuchel, as he almost always does, made his way onto the pitch after the full-time whistle and instead of focusing on the melee of players, went straight over to Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The academy graduate started on the bench but was introduced just after the hour mark to help Chelsea secure the three points. Something the Blues did just manage to do.

Yet ever the perfectionist, Tuchel wanted a little bit more from Hudson-Odoi and wasn’t going to wait until the sides were in the dressing room to outline his demands.

Just as was the case last season at the Etihad Stadium after a win over Man City, Hudson-Odoi was given an on-pitch debrief by Tuchel, who frantically waved his arms forward as he explained to the 21-year-old what he could have done better.

To his credit, Hudson-Odoi listened intently and then shook hands with the German before heading off the pitch. It will be intriguing to see whether he starts against Everton on Thursday night
